Teamspeak Server and Mechwarrior Characters

We now have a dedicated Teamspeak 3 server!

To get the information, check your Facebook or Yahoo messengers, all current Gatekeepers (and the invitational ones) have the information there.  If you can't find it, get with the nearest Sang-Wei or the Sao-Shao, and they'll be happy to set you up.  Make sure you have an up to date Teamspeak3 client, and enter the room with your MWO player name.  That's your Gatekeeper name!

You may have noticed the Gatekeeper Saga kicked off today as well.  Our House Liao Mechwarriors will be taking part in an ongoing RPG style story that we will develop ourselves across the lifetime of our MWO existence.  Here's the great news about that - you will help shape that story with your gameplay!

More information about our campaigns, which we are calling Operations, will be available soon.  Some nifty statistics will be tracked, and during these events the story will unfold and be told right here on the site.  Operations will be outside the actual game, but it's our way of fostering the community instead of using DKP or some other method.

Your Mechwarrior will have a profile and a short backstory, written and selected by you.  Write a 1+ paragraph description / background (it can be as in depth as you like) and select an image that you feel reflects your character.  We'll probably modify the photo, but pick one you like.  It can be anything - painting, celebrity photo or movie still.

You don't have to do this, but it would behoove you!  If you can't be bothered to write, find the Sao-Shao in the Teamspeak and let him know how you see your character.  If you don't, the writers claim carte-blanche to portray your Mechwarrior (i.e. you!) as they like...and it will more than likely be comical!  So if you see yourself as super-heroic or a brooding anti-hero, let us know.  You can use the Apply Today! form to the right to send your background entries in, including a link to the photo you'd like to use.  Anything punched in there goes directly to the Shao-Sao's desk.  Alternatively, you can submit that all directly to the Shao-Sao Zvolimir (myself).

In fact, Mechwarrior pics and background story will be a requirement for entry into the Gatekeepers.  We'll post all requirements and goals during the open recruitment drive next week, so get ready!  We're going to get some folks to join us, and we've already met a ton of awesome people on MWO.  So get to typing that description, and search up a good photo!  Your Mechwarriors will be a part of the Wargate's Battletech history!
