[W4RG] Rank System

Greetings, Gatekeepers!

The unit's ranks are the over-arching structure that unites all the games we play in.  Rank is for the unit, not for the individual game.  Thus, a member's rank will be reflected in each game that is supported by the Wargate [ONLINE].

Each rank and the associated privileges and duties are described below.  Duties and privileges are cumulative and / or mutative, such as individual Nameplates received upon each rank promotion / commendation award.  This list may be revised or amended at any time, and notice will be served across the network.

Rank 1

      Mendicant

• Entry-level recruit to the unit.
• No special privileges.
• This is a probationary period that ends when the Mendicant has secured an advocate among the Veterans or Gate Captains, and is no shorter than one week.  
• In order to progress to Rank 2, the Mendicant must be involved in at least one active flagship game.

Rank 2
Gate Keeper

• Member-level and the bulk of the unit.
• Access to Nameplate.
• Access to Information Nexus.
• Added to Network Groups (Facebook, Steam, etc.).

Rank 3
Veteran Gate Keeper

• Non-Commissioned Officer rank.
• Point of Contact with the unit.
• May add Mendicants to unit.
• Veteran-status is currently granted under only two circumstances:
• Joined the unit in 2013.
• Served on the Command Staff at any point.
• Veteran-status granted by Command Staff service also grants a Command Star commendation and access to the Command Tower.
• Special dispensation by the Marshal considering service history to the unit.
• Only Veterans may be promoted to Gate Captain.

Rank 4
Gate Captain

• Commissioned Officer rank.
• Event Coordinators and unit authorities.
• Required to host at least 1 weekly event.
• Expanded VOIP Controls.
• Command Staff Meetings / Voting.
• Inactive Gate Captains who cannot run the required event, or who desire to take a break from the incessant march of command, will be retired to Veteran status with a Command Star.

Rank 5
Marshal

• Network Administrator
• Overall Management
• Direct all complaints here.

Not much has really changed, as all these ranks can be directly related to our old system.  A few things changed, such as adherence to the strict number of each rank that was dictated by Inner Sphere system.  This new system can grow and change with the unit, with much fewer restrictions imposed arbitrarily.
