Gatekeepers Battalion Favored Battlemechs (2015)

Greetings, Gatekeepers!

As new members join our ranks, it will prove useful to have a general map of the battlemechs we favor on the drop deck when engaging in combat action.  All pilots should try to have at least one of these types in each weight class.  Listed below are the 'mechs you'll want to master and module-out, in no particular order:

Assault

• Battlemaster

These models represent the ones most owned by the unit, in addition to the standard Liao set we have run from the beginning.  This expands the number of "favored" 'mechs to four times what it once was.  As we only run Inner Sphere 'mechs in Community Warfare, when we stick to these particular chassis it will give us a particular flair in battle that will set us apart from other units.  Not only that, the synergies from deploying multiples of the same chassis are manifold.  Share builds and advice with your fellow Gatekeepers.  In addition, officers know exactly what to expect from the units under their command.

All battlemechs in the unit should move at least 60km, minimum.  This is higher for some roles, but all 'mechs should move 60km.  This 60km should be the final expressed speed, after speed tweak.

Note that we don't specify builds, with one exception.  RVN-3L and SDR-5D lights should be equipped with ECM modules.  All builds are on the individual pilot, and can be constructed according to the Tactical Manual.  We'll find a spot for you, especially if you can specify your designation according to our guidelines.

Prepare these 'mechs ahead of time for practices.  In time, our battalion will sharpen all the tools in the shed here.  We'll need them all to prune the nasty Davions from around our beloved worlds.  Good hunting, Gatekeepers!
