The 1st Battle of Tukayyid

The dust has finally cleared.  Though it was a long and titanic struggle, filled with both bitter defeat and glorious victory.  All fought bravely, though there were many who were unaffiliated with Inner Sphere military units, hamstringing what could have been a more successful operation.  The strong, organized units of the Inner Sphere did us all proud.

At the end of the battle, the Clans have come out on top...but not too greatly.  Despite what appeared to be superior numbers, the Inner Sphere did not have what it took to repel our enemies.  For now, we return to Purvo to deal with the already encroaching FedSuns...and we do not take this walk in shame.

Gatekeepers, I salute you.  I am very proud of this unit and what it has become.  I am excited for the new potential we are showing and the new train of though that has gripped us in the last few weeks.

You fought tirelessly throughout this endeavor.  Though we were few in number, we still managed to secure a place on the leaderboard...and placed 3rd among all other Liao units.  Your devotion to the unit and to the struggle of the Confederation and the entire Inner Sphere is unparalleled.  Our heads are high, and our backs are straight and tall.

Congratulations are in order.

New nameplates will be issued with special Army Badges for those of you whose actions at Tukayyid caused so many clanners to lose their lives.  Your contribution to this landmark battle will be forever noted in the annals of the Gatekeepers' traditions.  Further, an award bonus will be delivered for HLGK XP to mark the operations extension we enacted to combat the hordes.

You have fought well, Gatekeepers.

We are now pleased to inform you that by operations on Saturday, 03:00 PVST we will be announcing the addition of 4 new 'mechs to the list of Gatekeeper Favored Chassis.  The Command Staff will decide on the final chassis tonight and tomorrow, and the battalion will be informed no later than Saturday.  This will bring us to a higher percentage of usage now that the Resistance Pack is incoming, but remain 50% or less across all weight classes.

In addition, a new recruitment drive will begin soon with a bit of a change of direction.  It seems the winds of change keep blowing, but we have moved in a positive direction.  All scores have gone up dramatically, and all dissension and separatist rhetoric has been quelled.

We are still very much alive.
