The Gatekeepers encountered a strange mechwarrior on 116C-72G. Refresh your data core here.
The "facility" was, in reality, an old aerospace lauch bay overlooking the Vientiane harbor. Yet when UglyGreeN and Gearstripper got those non-standard designs in there, they didn't mind at all that it was chilly, dark and dank. Leaving the two with the new chassis and a team of 'mech techs, Purvo Actual requested a technical readout as quickly as possible.
To that end, the team picked the least damaged 'mech and began to work on restoring it's power systems. However, as soon as the engine had power the team hit a roadblock - House Liao restoration software was not going to work on this 'mech's computer systems. They surmised that a transliterative software decoder would work, and that the 'mech's systems were somehow encoded with a high-level encryption protocol.
The duo presented what they could to Blackhand and the Sang-Wei the next morning. They told them what they had managed to deduce, but the only real breakthrough that the technical team had was completing a external / internal component and systems scan, which resulted in a pretty complete image of the battlemech. No one had ever seen it before, and it left them with a peculiar sense of anticipation...and a new curiosity at the prisoners who now languished in Blackhand's gulag, especially their "Star Commander".

The team was in that dank hangar for more than two weeks before a breakthrough was made. They had replaced most of the 'mech's internal circuitry with gear they were more familiar with, but the entire structure of this battlemech was...off. Gearstripper and UglyGreeN worked hard on restoring all the systems, but large chunks of the mech had to be removed for the thing to pass stress limit testing with the gear they had installed - something which was obviously not meant to do so. Luckily, they stumbled upon the release switches for the weapon pods, and were able to remove a large amount of tonnage by stripping the weapons.
As time went on, Purvo Actual became more insistent upon getting that technical readout. Gearstripper set the team of techs to the task stripping and cataloging all the other 'mechs of weapons and computer systems, and began to study the computer architecture of the new systems. He hoped to eventually be able to understand how it was set up - it seemed like ComStar might have lost some 'mechs to a pirate, and they had captured those 'mechs from the pirates on 116C-72G during the last operation.
Yet this proved to be a monumental task, and one that they had not completed by the time Purvo Actual demanded a presentation of the technical readout they had compiled. Hadn't they gotten the thrice-damned thing working again? Just as Gearstripper strapped in the cockpit and took the first functional steps in the new chassis, UglyGreeN shut down the test system and buzzed into his ear.
"Eh...bawse wont ya ta'no, he wont ya to git that tech-redoubt reddy fir he awfice tomorri." UglyGreeN's accent was terrible, but Gearstripper had spent a lot of time with him in that hangar the last few weeks and it only took a moment for him to get the gist. Boss wants you to know he wants you to get that technical readout ready for his office tomorrow.
